    If you have the problem where the game will not boot at it is a black window screen, then you need to disable any “Game Controllers”, even if they are not in active use or connected.

    In Windows, go to “Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsDevices and Printers”

    If you see any devices listed as “Game Controller” then remove them, even if they are not active. I had the same issue and had no errant USB devices connected to my computer, but I do use Dolphin (Wii emulator) so I have a Wii controller as a Bluetooth device. Once I removed this device, the game booted properly.
